Arran House is one of three residences we have in Edinburgh.

Arran House is one of GSA’s three residences in Edinburgh.
It has a total of 302 student beds on offer comprising both studios and en-suite bedrooms.

This student accommodation will make you enjoy your student life to the fullest because you can find exciting hangout places in Edinburgh city centre. You can explore the various amazing nightlife and cultural hotspots in the area during the weekends when you're tired of the week of college.

If you're not into partying there are several restaurants, and Stockbridge Market also has a wide variety of street food. So, if you're looking for good food that won't pinch your pocket, then this is the place for you.
The accommodation in Edinburgh offers a choice between shared apartments for those who want to build their social network or a more private studio for those who prefer to come back to the comfort of their own place.

Additional Information

Unless the context otherwise requires, words and expressions defined in your Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement shall have the same meanings in this Cancellation Policy. Bookings made prior to 1 June 2021 If you sign your Tenancy Agreement prior to 1 June 2021 and you have not collected the keys to your Room, you may cancel your Tenancy, by giving notice in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property, with no penalty up until 1 June 2021. Once we receive such a notice, we will confirm receipt, cancel your Tenancy and will refund your Advance Rent Payment of £250.00, together with any other payments of Rent you may have made.

Bookings made on or after 1 June 2021 If you sign your Tenancy Agreement on or after 1 June 2021 and you have not collected the keys to your Room, you may cancel your Tenancy, by giving notice in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property, at any time within the period of fourteen (14) days of the date on which you sign your Tenancy Agreement (the “Cooling-Off Period”). Once we receive such a notice, we will confirm receipt, cancel your Tenancy and will refund your Advance Rent Payment of £250.00, together with any other payments of Rent you may have made.

Bookings made for Semester 2 or 3 starting after the 1st January 2022 If you sign a Tenancy Agreement for a semester 2 or 3 beginning after the 1st January 2022, you may cancel your Tenancy, by giving notice in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property, with no penalty up until 15 November 2021 or 8 weeks before the start of your agreement whichever is the shortest. Once we receive such a notice, we will confirm receipt, cancel your Tenancy and will refund your Advance Rent Payment of £250.00, together with any other payments of Rent you may have made.

If you have not collected your key you may also cancel at any time within the period of fourteen (14) days of the date on which you sign your Tenancy Agreement (the “Cooling-Off Period”). During the cancellation period, you may cancel your Tenancy, by giving notice in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property, Once we receive such a notice, we will confirm receipt, cancel your Tenancy and will refund your Advance Rent Payment of £250.00, together with any other payments of Rent you may have made. Cancelling outside the Cooling-Off Period Outside the Cooling-Off Period, you may request to cancel your Tenancy, by notice in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property. Cancelling as you do not receive your visa If you are not successful in being awarded a visa to travel and study, then we can help. Firstly, we may be able to transfer you to another one of our residences around the globe if you are going to study elsewhere. If you are not going to study elsewhere or we do not have accommodation available in your new city/town of study, we will release you from your Tenancy Agreement provided the following criteria are met: You submit your request to cancel, in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property, within 3 days of your visa rejection letter; and

You provide the Residence Manager with a copy of your rejection letter from the embassy or visa office. One less worry if you don’t receive your grades This is applicable to prospective first-year undergraduate students only If you are not successful in obtaining your place at your chosen University, then don’t worry, we can help. Firstly, we may be able to transfer you to another one of our residences if you are going to study elsewhere. If you are not going to study elsewhere or we do not have accommodation available in your new city/town of study, we will release you from your Tenancy Agreement provided the following criteria are met:

You submit your request to cancel, in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property, before 25 August 2021; and You provide the Residence Manager with a copy of your rejection letter from the University or UCAS. Once we have your request, we will confirm receipt and refund your Advance Rent Payment of £250.00, together with any other rent payments you may have made.

This property is just a 20-minute walk from the University of Edinburgh and Napier University, and a 25-minute bus ride from Heriot-Watt University.

The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street (the main shopping area), Edinburgh Waverley train station, and countless other landmarks, are all in the vicinity.
Wherever you're studying, getting there will be a piece of cake.

The building is also within easy access of both Edinburgh Railway Station (5 mins walk) and Edinburgh International Airport (40 minutes journey time).

The heart of the city centre is a 20-minute stroll away, so the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street (the main shopping area) and Edinburgh Waverley train station are virtually on your doorstep.

We don’t take deposits for any of our student accommodation. Instead, you’ll need to pay an advance rent fee which will go towards your second rent payment.
If you need to arrive out of hours please let your residence support team know with as much notice as possible to make sure we’re available to help.

We can only accept full-time students.
To live with us whilst studying at University, you will need to be 18 or older.
We don’t allow smoking inside your residence, but you’re free to smoke outside.
