Staff in the cafe area were absolutely brilliant, very friendly and helpful.

We spent 5 nights at Mingood in a large, quiet and well-equipped room. Yes, it is an older and a little worn, and the breakfast is typical for budget hotels in Malaysia, but everything works (including the wifi which worked very well in our first floor room), the bed was comfortable, and the staff were all super-friendly and cheerful. Excellent value for money. We will stay here again whenever we return to Penang.

The building is not modern, but the room is clean and comfortable.

Very quiet, staff very friendly specially the house keeping. And room rates is satisfied with good breakfast.

Room facilities, design of the property and amount of space was exceptional for the price paid. Also, front desk agents were very helpful in anything of importance.

The Hotel is more of a two stars standard. Its Old many facilities need to upgrade e.g. washing basin, water tap loose, basin choke. Consolation is that the fifth floor for breakfast was comfortable with a good view of the location occasional breeze from the sea was great.

Close proximity to downtown Georgetown area, shops and large malls, rooms are big with inclusion of large fridge in my room. Older style of rooms that have been looked after somewhat but the bathrooms do need renovations (toilets dont flush properly and leaking pipes). Try to get a room looking out onto street as these have a decent size air con in them (rooms at back have small box air con that take sometime to cool the room down), Wifi worked well for me during the entire stay

Location - close to Komtar and big shopping centres, wifi worked well, large rooms

We had a good sized room with a front balcony. There was plenty of hot water day and night. The beds were very comfortable and the AC worked well.

The staff were very helpful with plenty of info on how to get around town. The rooms are large and clean.

Who wouldn't enjoy the big rooms, comfortable beds, and friendly staff at Hotel Mingood. We enjoyed our fourth stay at Hotel Mingood, taking the time to chat to the staff (all of whom are lovely and friendly), relax in our air-conditioned room, check out the rooftops of George Town from our balcony. Our fridge was super efficient, in room safe very convenient, TV handy for checking out the goings on around the world... And of course location was great, under 5 minutes walk to Red Garden Hawkers, around 10 minutes to Komtar, and about the same right in to the heart of George Town's heritage zone.

Hotel Mingood is very central without being right in the middle of the noisy street action. We really liked having breakfast on the 5th floor which has a view over the city. The breakfast was good value with toasts, jam, peanut butter, coffee and juice and it is only 2 or 3 MYR extra if you want eggs. We really liked having a safe in the room.

Stayed here on 2 accations. Both very ok. resonable breakfast on rooftop. big rooms, good wifi. Still like a bath so that was a nice change.
